Unplanned Happy Mess

Funny I actually had a plan today. It was stitching, but I had planned making bits and bobs for the shop that I have been musing about for the past week or so, a couple of tissue holders featuring that cute little tree I did on one of my mini clocks, and another clock design. However, I picked up a bit of fabric, and a funny thing happened, I did something totally different. I have been doing it all afternoon. Now I don't normally get involved with competitions as most of the time it comes down to just that a lack of time or a lack of inspiration. On this occasion it was just something I sort of must have kept at the back of my mind about taking part, or just seemed to remember reading it, which was a competition that Liberty is running celebrating quilts. Now I am not a quilter, I dabble, and still am making a baby quilt, must get the wadding for that. I also don't do big projects, space and the love of working on small scale generally stops me from doing that. However, I want to have a go at least attempting to do something for this competition, and whether or not I actually finish it on time or even decide to enter the final project remains to be seen. However this is what I have got up to so far.
What do you think?

Delightful.

I've been slack in so many areas of my life, from general looking after myself, physically and mentally, to crafting, to job hunting...generally looking out for myself. So to find myself finishing off a project that was about to go on for months, at the rate I am currently working on was an utter delight. It took a bit of working out in the end, in order to achieve the right look, but I am rather pleased with it. Now that I have it done I am keen to get on with pulling my finger out and getting on with things. Work has been testing for me lately, no idea why, it's not exactly taxing, but I feel slightly trapped, and I just want out. I want to be where I feel I should be in my career. I know I am not alone, and I will get where I want to be, (where ever that maybe) just mean waiting a little more.

Patience, isn't my strong point.

Side note has anyone, Brits mainly, worked overseas, USA? How did you go about it, it's a dream of mine that has taken a back seat in order to be realistic, to work overseas. I just still don't have a clue how to go about it. So thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Anyway, back to what everyone that follows this blog wants to see, more stitchery...behold...

It's a bit special this clock, isn't it! Available for purchase today.

I end this brief blog, because frankly desperate need of a cuppa and a yum-yum, with something I found in amongst a pile of oddities that never were finished, it was a patch I think I had destined to adorn a tea cosy naturally hasn't made it that far, now I am toying with the idea of doing it. However, I'm sure I could use it on something else, thoughts appreciated? Of course I could mount in a hoop frame and make an instant bit of artwork for a kitchen, or attached it to a canvas bag...but I don't know sure I could do it better justice.
