Since I dipped my toe into the world of embroidery patterns, makes it sound very grand but what I've done is produced free little embroidery designs for people to stitch (personal use only...of course). I can't help but admire those who have been doing it for some time. All just lovely! Used to embroider a lot, but since the toys (www.coldhamcuddlies.etsy.com) took over, I don't do as much: except when decorations on the lady toys' dresses are required. Good luck with you toe-dipping!
